Crimes

First Insight: There was a spike in crime in 2022, as most of the month near 20,000 crimes committed.

Second Insight: There was the lowest crime in fall of 2020 and spring of 2021, around 15,000 crimes committed.

Third Insight: Thus far in 2024, there has been a decrease in the number of crimes committed. This could be due to the delay of input of information.

Fourth Insight: In 2023, the amount of crime is fairly stagnant over the months compared to the other years, hovering around 18,000 to 20,000. C

Fifth Insight: There was a slow rise of crime in 2021, which could correlate with the decreasing strictness of COVID protocols and quarantine.

Arrests

First Insight: The highest number of arrests occured in January of 2021.

Second Insight: In 2022 and 2023, the lowest number of arrests occured in February.

Third Insight:: There was an spike in arrests in May of 2023, but afterwards arrests hover around 5,500 for the rest of the year.

Fourth Insight: Throughout all of the years, the number of arrests per month is between 5,000 and 6,000. This could indicate a possible quota.

Fifth Insight: There was a large decrease in the number of arrests made from March to April of 2020, which could correlate to COVID, but this drop doesn't last long as there is a spike in May 2020.

Comparing Arrests and Crimes

First Insight: There are always more crimes committed than arrests made.

Second Insight: In 2022, the points are clustered together, which indicates that throughout the months, there was around the same number of arrests made and crimes committed.

Third Insight: April of 2024 had the lowest arrests made and crimes committed, which could indicate a delay in updating data.

Fourth Insight: In May of 2023, arrests spiked while crime stayed fairly linear.

Fifth Insight: In 2020, January had the most arrests and crimes committed.
